Beco Carrier

I have been looking for a good & light carrier to carry Karis as I need to send Karis to my MIL's plc everyday. I was debating between ERGO & BECO.

Then found a this websites like http://www.theportablebaby.com/ ; they have comparsion chart between BECO, ERGO, Pikkolo, Patapum & Baby Bjorn. It really helps to clear my mind.

Plus reviews from some mummies' experience - BECO is lighter than ERGO!

Pros: Very comfortable, Stylish, Can use on front, back, or hip, Easy to use, Ergonomic, suitable from birth to 20kg Cons: More Expensive

I went to trial it at Cozybabies showroom today.

When Karis is inside the carrier, I felt she is really lighter as compare to ERGO & sling.

ERGO is good too but I feel it is too bulky & the material is thicker.

Sling is good too but I feel my back is aching after using it; not much back support.

Getting Ready to Work

I am going back to work on Thursday, 5 Nov 2009.

Yes, after almost 6 mths rest....

Look forward to work again, I must said Yes & No...

1) New clothings for work - buy it because all items are in SALE (5 Tops, 2 Dresses & 1 Skirt)

2) Medela Freestyle pump - want something that is strong & light to carry to work everyday.

But have to wait till early Nov then will receive it cos this is a USA set from SMH spree. Meanwhile, I have to bring my Ameda pump to work.

New School for Iris

Hubby brought Iris to Arise K to buy uniform today.

Yes, She will be attending Arise K - PreN from 2 Nov 2009 onwards.

Besides new school, she is going to take school bus to school.

Trying on her new uniform. We need to buy new shoes & socks for her too.

Arrival of Baby Karis Ong

Yes, Finally I gave birth on 28.8.2009 (fri)!

Again Karis is 2 days overdue as Iris.

9.30am: Dr broke my water bag, 3cm C opening

9.30am - 1pm: C open 1 more cm only

1.30pm: Given induce dripping

2.30pm: Contractions starts to kick in

4.30pm: BB Karis is born!!!

When Dr Koh arrived, just 2 pushes, BB Karis is out.

She is 3240gm, 47cm (Shorter & lighter than Iris)

Saw the Advertisement in PropoertyGuru. Love it & ask agent to arrange viewing.

2 Apr 09:
View the unit at 6pm. Feel good & comforty; Iris even ran around the house.
Valuation not out yet.

3 Apr 09:
Let my FS master view the floorplan & he said it suits us.
2nd viewing at 7pm & made the offer! After 30mins neg., sellers agreed to our price.
Paperworks signed & paid the deposit.

22 Jun 09:
1st appointment with HDB.

2 Aug 09:
Check the unit condition.

3 Aug 09:
Collect our keys in the afternoon (exactly 4mths after we OTP)!!
Together with our FS master view the unit at 7.30pm to advise us on the house.

4 Aug 09:
Meet contractor etc for final measurements & discussion in our house.

5 Aug 09:
Reno Start!!

Pre-Nursery for Iris (Jan 2010)

After much thinking, we decided not to put Iris into child care in Cherie Hearts.
Not that the CHCC not good, we feel the timing is too LONG!!

Luckily, my friend suggests another Kindergarten - Arise Kindergarten.
View the school last Thursday, both of us like the environment, teachers, their curriculum, timing & uniform plus they have school bus services.
Timing for Iris: 11.45am -2.15pm.
Fees per mth (includes return school bus services): $355.

We have signed up for Iris. She will start her Pre-N in Jan 2010.

Looking for Iris's Child Care Centre in year 2010

I have been looking for a child care centre for Iris. We are going to send her when I go back to work (after Materity leave) in Dec 09.

We have decided to send her to Cherie Hearts SAF CDC @ Gombak Pte Ltd

After visiting the Centre, our comments:

1. Centre is very spacious and super clean.
2. Big Classrooms enough for the kids to explore
3. Has their own playground, play area, painting area, own kitchen area where all the kids gather together for lunch.
4. Teachers are young and has the energy to interact wif them.
5. Centre is highly secured cos all people need to exchange pass to go in.
6. SAF personnel get subsidy of $100. :)

Location: Block 307 Gombak Recreation Centre Bukit Panjang Camp, Bukit Panjang Loop
(1 of the camp inside MINDEF HQ)

Alot of friends & even teacher from Cherie Hearts told me I should let Iris to join the CC next month before I give birth. If not, she maybe sensitive & think because of newborn baby then she is 'sent' to Child Care.
After discussion with hubby, we decided to continue Iris playgroup with Talent Plus then switch her to Cherie Hearts in Nov 2009.

MumsFairy - Antenatal Workshop on Successful Breastfeeding

Last Friday, I attended MumsFairy - Antenatal Breastfeeding workshop. Speaker is Sister Kang from Mt. A.
It was a fruitful, interesting & informative workshop.
At least, I am more prepared & know what to do this time.
As compare to my previous experience of Breastfeeding, I know NOTHING AT ALL!

Besides, give the best to baby, I hope I can slim down thru BF. :)
Wish me luck in successul breastfeeding.
